The Large Road Stud has an approx. length of 9mm (excluding threaded section). It has undergone an extra hardening process to make it even more hard-wearing to stand up to the rigours of road work. Larger than the standard road studs, the Supastuds large road studs are useful for bigger horses hind feet. SupaStuds are made from British steel that is subjected to a high tech hardening process which makes the whole stud, not just the tip, stronger and more hard-wearing than tungsten. This process gives the studs their blue/black appearance rendering them almost completely rust resistant. SupaStuds are not self-tapping studs. They have been designed to clean the hole not to re-thread it. Sold Individually All Supastuds are designed to fit 3/8″ stud holes
